The Difference Between Vehicle Graphics, Wraps, and Lettering

The Difference Between Vehicle Graphics, Wraps, and Lettering

If you’ve ever looked into getting your company vehicles decked out in designs, you may have come across several options for vehicle graphics.

Many people know the value of using vehicle graphics to promote their business with their cars, trucks, and vans! Overall, applying created designs to a vehicle is a cost-effective marketing tool to boost your brand wherever your vehicle goes. If you’ve ever looked into getting your company vehicles decked out in designs, you may have come across several options. Today, we’ll be discussing the main differences between vehicle graphics, vehicle wraps, and vehicle lettering. This way, you can make an informed decision for your custom car signs and decals.

Vehicle Graphics

Vehicle graphics are typically made from precisely printed and cut vinyl. These graphics are a semi-permanent application to your vehicle’s surface. This means that the graphics will stay on your car or truck for as long as you’d like. However, if there ever comes a time to change your graphics or remove them for any reason, the removal process is straightforward and won’t leave damage or residue on your car. Vehicle graphics are widely popular for their efficacy and affordable price point, including the cost of design, production, and installation.

Vehicle Wraps

Essentially, vehicle wraps are a form of vehicle graphics but to a larger scale! Wraps can be applied to the whole vehicle body, sometimes windows, or just portions of the vehicle. This is also referred to as a partial wrap. Car wraps provide more creative control over the finished design since all graphics, logos, texts, and pictures are printed onto a background. Given the larger scale of the production and application process, wraps tend to cost more than traditional graphics. Further, while permits aren’t necessary to create wraps or graphics for your car, your designs may need to comply with local laws on advertising or window-tinting. This could also include concerns regarding business taxes and insurance.

Vehicle Lettering

When you need a simple line of text or phone number applied to your vehicle, vehicle lettering is your best bet! Installation for lettering can be completed in as little as a few hours and can be completed at your place of business! As long as it does not impact driver visibility, lettering can be applied to car panels and windows. Your designs should not cover any lights or obscure the license plate.
